Andrew Wen-Chuan Lo (Chinese: 羅聞全; born 1960) is a Hong Kong-born American economist and academic who is the Charles E. and Susan T. Harris Professor of Finance at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Lo is the author of many academic articles in finance and financial economics.

Aug 21, 2023 · Andrew W. Lo is the Charles E. and Susan T. Harris Professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management, director of the MIT Laboratory for Financial Engineering, and a principal investigator at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.
Andrew Lo is the director of the MIT Laboratory for Financial Engineering, a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research, a member FINRA’s Economic Advisory Board, and founder and Chief Investment Strategist of AlphaSimplex Group, LLC.
His current research spans five areas: evolutionary models of investor behavior and adaptive markets, systemic risk and financial regulation, quantitative models of financial markets, financial applications of machine-learning techniques and secure multi-party computation, and healthcare finance.
