Oct 21, 2021 · The quiet, rural town of Colchester was incorporated at the turn of the 18th century and grew up around a picturesque town green. Three centuries later it’s reassuring that most of the life in Colchester Center coalesces at this space, which is protected as a historic district.
Town of Colchester. This suburban town is 30 minutes south to the shoreline or 30 minutes north to Hartford. Colchester spans almost 50 miles in area with several state parks and farmlands to enjoy. Salmon River State Forest offers hiking, hunting, fishing and picnicking.
