Biography. Spending most of my time composing music. Playing some poker. Working on exciting projects with my company Blue Pacific Studios, which I co-founded with three friends. In the past, I have co-founded Shopify where I was Chief Design Officer, Chief Culture Officer and Chief Creative Officer. That's a lot of chief officering.
Having been a photographer in the past, I always had a fascination with telling stories. My childhood dream was to compose music for motion pictures so I feel that getting into video is just the obvious evolution for where I needed to be next.

Daniel Weinand joined Shopify in 2005 and co-founded the Shopify platform that launched in 2006. He has been the Chief Design Officer since 2008 and also serves as the Chief Culture Officer, taking on that role in 2012.
