Murray McLauchlan. SINGER SONGWRITER. Forty odd years after his first foray into music, Murray has twenty albums to his credit on both True North Records and Capitol Records. His songs have been covered by many other artists as well as being featured in high school text books.
Murray Edward McLauchlan, CM (born 30 June 1948) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, guitarist, pianist, and harmonica player. He is best known for his Canadian hits "The Farmer's Song," "Whispering Rain," and "Down by the Henry Moore".
McLauchlan has always been unabashedly passionate about Canada and that great love collided with his love of aviation when he made a circumnavigation of the entire country, from Atlantic to Pacific to Arctic, in a Cessna 185 floatplane, followed by a film crew.
Over 140 minutes of Murray’s best material including all his hits, two previously unreleased tracks, a brand new song and a track penned by the late great Warren Zevon (Carmelita). The mastering was done by Peter Moore (Bruce Cockburn, Cowboy Junkies) all from the original analogue master tapes.
