Power Rangers S.P.D. is the thirteenth season of the television series Power Rangers and is based on the 28th Super Sentai series Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger. The initials in the title stand for "Space Patrol Delta"; in Dekaranger, it stood for Special Police Dekaranger.

In the not too distant future the Power Rangers open a Police Academy to train, educate and house the next generation of Rangers.
In the near future, an elite police force of Power Rangers dedicated to justice fight to save the Earth from an alien invasion led by Emperor Gruumm. Two street kids are pursued by the S.P.D., a space patrol from the future whose job it is to protect Earth from evil aliens.
The S.P.D. (or SPD) Power Rangers are characters and heroes in the Power Rangers universe, and the primary protagonists in the television series Power Rangers S.P.D.. [3] This series is set in the year 2025. The S.P.D. Rangers that appear in the series are labeled B-Squad, a weak team that are initially a backup team as their name suggests.
With Cruger and the S.P.D. Rangers imprisoned aboard Gruumm's ship, it's up to Omega Ranger, Kat and Boom to rally the remaining S.P.D. forces in a last ditch but possibly futile effort to defend Earth.
