Railroad Park, opened in 2010, now consists of 19 acres of green space in the middle of downtown Birmingham. The design took a historic bisector of Birmingham, a rail viaduct, and turned it into a space that brings the community together as a whole.
If you can handle a vibrant, multi-ethnic, and multi-cultural experience, then you'll love it here. This place is a phenomenal asset to Birmingham, a wonderful hangout spot, and a true park for all. I recommend bringing a blanket and a picnic (or snack) and enjoying the people watching and cityscape.
