The Scioto Mile is a collection of parks and trails along both banks of the Scioto River in Columbus, Ohio, connecting parts of the Scioto Greenway Trail with downtown Columbus and Franklinton. The nine parks cover 145 acres (59 ha).
Late in 2015, the Scioto Mile created 33 new acres of parkland in downtown Columbus. The project, a massive work of environmental rehabilitation, removed lowhead dams from the Scioto River and narrowed the course of the river back to its more natural state.
Lower River Walk: Along the water’s edge below Coleman’s Pointe, the Lower River Walk offers panoramic views of the Scioto Mile and downtown skyline. The expansive walkway can host a variety of activities – from jogging and cycling to a casual stroll.
