This man-made lake offers fishing, boating, camping, and swimming. There is a State Park that is clean and maintained. Whether for a day trip or a week you will be very glad you came to see this lake. There are trails to hike, swimming, fishing to be had. Highly recommend it.
Lake Charles is a 645-acre impoundment constructed by the U.S. Soil Conservation Service and Arkansas Game and Fish Commission in the 1960s. A state park, offering camping, picnic sites, hiking trails, pavilion, playgrounds, launch ramp and sandy beach, was dedicated in 1967.

Jun 9, 2022 · Lake Charles State Park is located in Powhatan, Arkansas. This small little state park offers 4 hiking trails with the longest one being only a mile and a half. Although the trails are a little smaller, the biggest attraction is the Lake.
Lake Charles is amazing! Large camp spots....swim beach. Kayak rental. Hiking....cleanest restrooms anywhere! And view of the lake from each spot. One if our very favorite State Parks!
