Nestled on the west bluffs of the Illinois River, the Village of Peoria Heights possesses City convenience with Village charm. It is home to a thriving downtown business district which hosts over seventy-five eclectic and independently owned retail stores and restaurants.
Peoria Heights is a suburb of Peoria, is sometimes referred to as Uptown, and is surrounded by the city except for its eastern boundary on Peoria Lake, a relatively wider section of the Illinois River. It is part of the Peoria, Illinois Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Nestled on the west bluffs of the Illinois River is the picturesque village of Peoria Heights. The thriving downtown business district is home to over 75 unique and independently-owned retail stores and restaurants.
Photos from just 10 to 15 years earlier show a grittier town, a downtown that was more utilitarian than charming. But like most municipalities, Peoria Heights has been through its share of transformations. This year, Peoria Heights is observing the 125th anniversary of its re-incorporation.

Tower Park. Adjacent to Village Hall, Tower Park was built in 1968. It was totally renovated in 2003 with a large water fountain and a 44’ pavilion for community events to compliment it's 200’ water tower. The in use 500,000 gallon water tower has three observation decks.
