Silverwing was a silvery she-dragon of House Targaryen. She was ridden by Queen Alysanne Targaryen, and later by Ulf White during the Dance of the Dragons. According to David J. Peterson, the official language creator for the television adaptations of Martin's works, the High Valyrian translation for Silverwing's name is Gēliotīkun.
In Fire & Blood, Silverwing was one of the older and larger dragons at the start of the Dance, apparently one of the powerful second-generation dragons hatched to the Targaryens' original three. As her name suggests, she is described as a silvery dragon.
