In 2022, Ohio voters in all counties will elect judges, including chief justice and two justices of the Supreme Court of Ohio, as well as judges for the Ohio Court of Appeals. Voters in most counties will elect judges of the county court of common pleas and some will elect county court judges.
Article IV, Section 2, of the Constitution sets the size of the Court at seven – a Chief Justice and six Justices – and outlines the jurisdiction of the Court. The Supreme Court is the court of last resort in Ohio. Most of its cases are appeals from the 12 district courts of appeals.
