   • Devil’s Canyon was the most frequent suggestion (Mt. Garfield was second, but I was not interested in a 2000 foot staircase with my knees). The trail, which is part of a large system of trails off the singular trailhead, is south of I-70, exit 19, and then a few mile east on Kingsview Road. The hike is fairly easy and just under 8 miles long.

   Is Devils Canyon a good place to hike?

   • Devils Canyon is a beautiful slot in a remote section of the San Rafael Swell. Access is relatively easy. The area is popular with ATV riders but few hike here and so it is easy to find solitude. The scenery is amazing, with towering cliffs and majestic slickrock buttes rivaling the famous formations in Zion National Park. Justensen Flat

   How long is Devils Canyon?

   • D3 is one of the more popular trails - it is about 7 miles and you will go past an old cowboy shack, which is pretty cool. Devils Canyon has some shaded areas and some with some flowing water (except for deep summer, of course). You will see plenty of wild flowers, trees and cactus.
