A Safe Place breaks the cycle of family violence and intimate partner abuse. We work every day to provide 24/7 emergency shelter, security and support.
Our mission at A Safe Place is to decrease domestic violence by providing victims, survivors, and their children with a safe shelter and resources to break the cycle of violence through outreach and education to at-risk populations and diverse communities.
Safe Place is a national youth outreach and prevention program for young people under the age of 18 (up to 21 years of age in some communities) in need of immediate help and safety.
Here’s how Safe Place works: Step One – A young person enters a Safe Place and asks for help. Step Two – The site employee finds a comfortable place for the youth to wait while they call the licensed Safe Place agency.
A Safe Place provides shelter, permanent housing, court advocacy, referrals and comprehensive counseling programs for survivors of domestic violence – families who have been physically, verbally, or emotionally abused.
With safety, counseling, and supportive services, survivors of domestic violence experience healing and empowerment, and decide for themselves to live free of violence. A Safe Place must address domestic violence & human trafficking on a local, state, and national level.
S.A.F.E. Place envisions a collaborative, person-centered community that prevents violence and exploitation, while also advocating for peace and justice for those impacted by violence. Our two-pronged approach helps survivors identify their own power and impacts systems change.
