A landfill site, also known as a tip, dump, rubbish dump, garbage dump, trash dump, or dumping ground, is a site for the disposal of waste materials. Landfill is the oldest and most common form of waste disposal, although the systematic burial of the waste with daily, intermediate and final covers only began in the 1940s.
The City of Brookings Regional Landfill hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., and Saturday from 8:00 am to 11:45 am. Note: The Landfill is closed Saturdays from December 1 through March 31. For holiday hours, please review the landfill calendar.
