Resident Sign-Ups for The Big Event 2024 closed on February 11, 2024. The Big Event 2024 is scheduled for March 23! If you missed the registration deadline this year, we would love to serve you.
The Big Event is one of the best examples of Texas A&M's core value of selfless service. It is also the largest one-day student-run service project in the nation. The Big Event began in 1982 when six Aggies — led by founder Joe Nussbaum — volunteered to clean up a local cemetery.
Apr 13, 2024 · Texas A&M University - Texarkana hosted its first annual version of The Big Event in April 2017 and added the tagline - Eagle Pride City Wide (EPCW). The inaugural event boasted over 200 volunteers that clocked nearly 1,000 service hours. This year's Big Event was held on April 13, 2024.
