Biography. Elvina Marguerite Jones was born at Salt Lake City January 24, 1870. She was the daughter of Daniel Webster Jones and (Harriet) Emily (Colton). She was 14 when her mother and youngest brother were killed when a canvas shed and its support poles collapsed on them on her brother's 2nd birthday.
