Head of drama Penny Win’s impending departure from Foxtel has raised concerns among the production community over the pay TV platform’s commitment to Australian drama. Win has stepped down after nearly five years in the post and two years before that as SoHo channel manager and Foxtel Networks commissioning editor for drama.

Penny Win started her media career in radio in New Zealand. She went on to work in television in Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong and is experienced in both free-to-air and subscription television. Penny came to Foxtel in 1996 after working at Star TV in Hong Kong and managed the running of Foxtel’s drama channels from 2007 to 2014.
PENNY Win has been elevated to Foxtel’s head of drama after overseeing development of the drama hit Wentworth and elegant miniseries Devil’s Playground. Congratulations on the new gig.
