Filmways, Inc. (also known as Filmways Pictures and Filmways Television) was a television and film production company founded by American film executive Martin Ransohoff and Edwin Kasper in 1952.
Filmways. In 1952, Ransohoff co-founded the film production company Filmways, Inc. with Edwin Kasper (Kasper left the firm in 1957). The firm listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 1959. Filmways started making TV commercials, moved into documentaries, then sitcoms; by 1963 Filmways was making $13 million a year.

Orion's interest in Filmways stemmed from the company's library of 500 films as well as its distribution operation. Once in power, the new management of Filmways moved to divest the company of its holdings outside the entertainment industry.

Filmways was a television and film production company incorporated in 1958. They were best known for producing many of the CBS rural comedies of the 1960s. In 1982, Filmways was acquired by Orion Pictures and reorganized as Orion Pictures Corporation soon afterwards.
