Aug 1, 2022 · Monday August 1, 2022 – Professor Rose-Marie Belle Antoine, new Pro Vice-Chancellor and Principal for the St. Augustine Campus of The University of the West Indies (The UWI) officially assumed office on August 1, 2022. She succeeds Professor Brian Copeland who proceeded into retirement on July 31, 2022.
She’s an award-winning legal scholar, an author, an advocate for social justice, and a public intellectual. To the community that populates the St Augustine Campus however, she’s recognised as the first Dean of the Faculty of Law at UWI St Augustine, a journey she completed at the end of July.
