Film director, Screenwriter. Marcello Pagliero (15 January 1907 – 18 October 1980) was an Italian film director, actor, and screenwriter. Pagliero was born in London and died in Paris. He is perhaps best known for his performance in the Roberto Rossellini film Rome, Open City (1945).

Marcello Pagliero ou, en France, Marcel Pagliero, né le 15 janvier 1907 à Londres et mort le 9 décembre 1980 à Paris, est un réalisateur, scénariste, acteur et producteur français d'origine italienne. Il a notamment été un des sept scénaristes de Païsa nommés à l'Oscar du meilleur scénario original en 1950.
Marcello Pagliero is excellent too, as the resistance leader, and Anna Magnani brings humility and sincerity to the role of the woman who is killed. The remaining cast is unqualifiedly fine, with the exception of Harry Feist in the role of the German commander.
