Rodrigo García Barcha (born 24 August 1959) is a Colombian and Mexican television and film director, screenwriter, author and former cinematographer, best known for his films Nine Lives (2005), Mother and Child (2009), Albert Nobbs (2011), Last Days in the Desert (2015), as well as his work on the HBO drama series In Treatment. Oct 19, 2022 · Ever since I took my family to see writer/director Rodrigo García’s “Nine Lives” at Chicago’s Landmark Century Centre Cinema per Roger Ebert’s recommendation in 2005, the picture has always had a coveted spot on my top ten list of all-time favorite films.
Son of Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez. Has directed 2 actresses to Oscar nominations: Glenn Close (Best Actress, Albert Nobbs (2011) ), and Janet McTeer (Best Supporting Actress, Albert Nobbs (2011) ). a Hatch award for best feature-length film. Brother of Gonzalo García Barcha.
