- Go All the Way. By far, The Raspberries’ most popular song was their big-time 1972 hit “Go All The Way.” The song was not only the Raspberries’ biggest hit, but it stands as one of the most cherished songs of the 1970s.

Jun 24, 2021 · The Raspberries were formed in Mentor, Ohio, in the early 1970s. Eric Carmen and Jim Bonfanti enjoyed some success with their groups Cyrus Erie and the Choir. Another member, Wally Bryson and John Aleksic, were also Choir members, rounding out the group. The overall style of the band recaptured a lost era in music.
Dec 7, 2023 · After ousting Aleksic in 1971, The Raspberries continued as a trio, with Carmen taking over on bass. When Smalley returned home after his tour of duty in Vietnam he was brought into the band first as rhythm guitarist and later as bassist. For the next part of the plan they bought tickets and went east to New York.
