Journalist, politician and broadcaster. John Saxon Tingle (2 November 1931 – 5 August 2022) [1] was an Australian politician, journalist and broadcaster. He was the founder of the Shooters Party in New South Wales, and was a member of the New South Wales Legislative Council from 1995 until 2006. [2] [3]

Tingle announced the 90-year-old's death on Twitter on Saturday saying: "Love you Dadda". On Instagram, she added: "Isn't Saxon just the best name?", registering her "profound gratitude and luck in having him in my life."

Aug 6, 2022 · John Saxon Tingle, who founded the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party, has died at the age of 90 overnight. Before entering politics, he worked as a radio and TV journalist at the ABC in Sydney in the 1950s & 1960s - later working on commercial stations including 2UE, 2UW (now KIIS 1065), 2SM, 3AW and 4BK (now B105 FM).
