Ned Wynn was an actor, screenwriter and author who grew up in Hollywood. He was the son of Keenan Wynn and Evie Wynn Johnson, and the stepson of Van Johnson.

One son, actor and writer Ned Wynn (born Edmond Keenan Wynn), wrote the autobiographical memoir We Will Always Live In Beverly Hills. His other son, Tracy Keenan Wynn , is a screenwriter whose credits include The Longest Yard and The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman (both 1974).
He began his career in vaudeville in 1903 and was known for his Perfect Fool comedy character, his pioneering radio show of the 1930s, and his later career as a dramatic actor, which continued into the 1960s. [2] His variety show (1949–1950), The Ed Wynn Show, won a Peabody Award and an Emmy Award .
