It is an FAA Part 121–certificated air carrier operating under air carrier certificate number MASA036A issued on June 29, 1979. It is a subsidiary of Mesa Air Group and operates flights as United Express via respective code sharing agreements with United Airlines.

Dec 30, 2022 · Mesa Air has agreed to a new deal with United Airlines as it plans to become exclusively linked to the carrier's passenger operations from next year. The agreement will see the full-service carrier provide $41.2 million in financial backing, as well as another $80 million to cover extra engines.
