Norman Ray Bridwell (February 15, 1928 – December 12, 2014) was an American author and cartoonist best known for creating the Clifford the Big Red Dog book series.
When Norman Bridwell first visited children’s publishing houses in 1962, one drawing in his portfolio was of a little girl and a big red dog. Little did Bridwell know, this idea would evolve into a global phenomenon, helping him to sell over 44 million books.
