Unfortunately, Bert Thompson has offended powerful people (such as his charge several years that evolution was being taught at ACU). Some seem to have responded with glee at his downfall. One of his sons is a member of the congregation where we live, and you simply could not find a finer young man.
Mr. Thompson was a role model and mentor who encouraged people to work toward greater personal involvement in their communities. His work was to connect people and employ community and restorative justice principles and practice to help others.

Bert Thompson is a Ph.D. in microbiology from Texas A&M University and a former professor and coordinator at the same institution. He is also a creationist, a member of the American Society of Microbiology, and a popular speaker on science and nature.
