Scott 3 is the third solo album by American singer songwriter Scott Walker, released on March 1, 1969, in the United Kingdom through Philips Records. It was produced by John Franz. Though a majority of the tracklist features original songs from Walker, the final three tracks are covers of compositions by Jacques Brel .
Scott 3 is a quantum leap forward for Scott and his artistry, and I think it boils down to two major reasons. One is that the record is almost entirely self-penned, with at 10-track song cycle of originals making up the bulk of the album, and 3 Brel covers tacked on, almost as “bonus tracks” at the end.

Scott Walker’s third solo album features many of his finest compositions. It’s his first solo album to be dominated by his own songs. Naturally, his hero, Jacques Brel, is covered for the final three tunes, but they segue perfectly from Walker’s own idiosyncratic style.
