What is an alias? An alias is an additional email address associated with your Outlook.com account. An alias uses the same inbox, contact list, and account settings as your primary email address. You can sign in to your Outlook.com account with any alias—they all use the same password.

After I changed my primary alias on my outlook.com account, I can't log back in. So sorry for that trouble! This is a known issue we're working on resolving with the outlook.com team directly. For now, the solution is to delete and re-add your account.
