Apr 26, 2022 · He was the second son of Władysław Odonic, Duke of Greater Poland by his wife Hedwig, who was probably daughter of Duke Mestwin I of Pomerania, or a member of the Premyslid dynasty. His name was very popular in the Piast dynasty, so it's unknown exactly after whom he was named.

Henry II also inherited the disputes with Konrad of Masovia, Władysław Odonic, and with the Church, led by Pełka, Archbishop of Gniezno. The situation changed unexpectedly after the death of Władysław Odonic on 5 June 1239, who left two minor sons, Przemysł I and Bolesław the Pious.
Władysław Odonic, accused of involvement in the assault, retired to the Duchy of Masovia, where he forged another alliance with Duke Konrad I. With both Pomerelian and Masovian support he was enabled to take the whole Duchy of Greater Poland from Władysław Spindleshanks in 1229.
Władysław Odonic (ur. ok. 1190, zm. 5 VI 1239) – książę wielkopolski, syn Odona i Wyszesławy, księżniczki ruskiej. Nosił on także przydomek Plwacz, jednak nie jest znana jego geneza, może miał on związek z jakaś chorobą, a może z nagannymi manierami jego właściciela.
