Mamoru Sasaki received the M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from Kumamoto University, Kumamoto, Japan, in 1988 and 1991, respectively. From 1991 to 2002, he was with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Kumamoto University.
