Dawn of Possession is the debut album by Immolation. It was released on July 19, 1991; it was their first and only album released on Roadrunner Records. The album was re-issued and re-mastered by Metal Mind Productions as a limited-edition digipak, on April 24, 2006, with bonus videos.

Jul 16, 2021 · On this day, 30 years ago, New York’s finest export — not to discount Incantation or Mortician — released their pivotal, soul-crushing debut album, Dawn of Possession, on Roadrunner subsidiary R/C Records. At the time, Immolation were ascendant.
Immolation signed a record deal with Roadrunner Records and released their debut album Dawn of Possession in 1991. After leaving Roadrunner, the band released "Stepping on Angels," a compilation of demo releases and live tracks.
