Alexander English (born January 5, 1954) is an American former professional basketball player, coach, and businessman. A South Carolina native, English played college basketball at the University of South Carolina. He was drafted in the second round of the National Basketball Association (NBA) draft in 1976.

Alex English was one of the most respected, well-rounded, and dominant players in the game during the 1980s. He was a coach's dream - confident and quiet, coachable and prepared, and always ready to play. An offensive force with unmatched shooting and driving skills, English was a prolific scorer.
Alex English played 15 seasons for 4 teams, including the Nuggets and Bucks. He averaged 21.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 1,193 regular-season games. He was selected to play in 8 All-Star games. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1997.
