George Washington Trendle was a Detroit radio and television pioneer best known as the producer of both The Lone Ranger and The Green Hornet radio and television programs. Trendle was born on July 4, 1884 in Norwalk, Ohio.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack, Grosse Pointe Woods. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Mr. Trendle is survived by his wife, Adelaide; a son, George W. Jr.; a daughter, Mrs. Dwight Johnston; and five grandchildren.
