Four years into his budding career, Ian moved to Los Angeles (2006) to pursue the art and began working with the iconic comic, Margaret Cho, as her regular opening act for 3 years. During that time, Harvie toured all over the world with Cho, then turned solo act, cross-country headliner and groundbreaking transgender comedian.
