Antonio David Lyons was born in Hollywood, Florida. He has a Master's degree in Applied Theatre from the City University of New York (CUNY).
Lyons started his acting career in 1996, appearing in an episode of the TV show New York Undercover (with Jose Zuniga). After that, he has worked on other TV shows like Chicago Hope, NYPD Blue (with Ricky Schroder), The Practice, The Pretender (with Patrick Bauchau and Donzaleigh Abernathy), Snitch, and Karen Sisco.
Aside of TV, Lyons has also worked on films like American History X and Hotel Rwanda (with Hakeem Kae-Kazim). One of his other roles was in the 2002 film The Sum of All Fears, which also featured fellow 24 actors James Cromwell, Colm Feore, Eugene Lazarev and Joel Bissonnette. In 2003, he relocated to Johannesburg, South Africa. Since then, Lyons has worked on multiple South African films and TV shows as well.
Aside of acting, Lyons is a poet and musician. In 2007, he released his first album titled Human Jewels. He followed it with We Dance We Pray in 2011.
