    Ngila Dickson (born 1958 in Dunedin, New Zealand) is a New Zealand costume designer, known for her work on Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. She and Weta Workshop head Richard Taylor would win Best Costume Design at the 2004 Academy Awards for The Return of the King, and a BAFTA award for

    Her designs for primary characters of the films, with commentary, are featured in Gary Russell's guides to the art direction of the films. As the amount of total costumes required was beyond ten thousand, Dickson worked with forty tailors in addition to Sylvana Sacco. Commentary is also found in some of the documentaries in the Extended Edition of the trilogy. Dickson had previously worked with Jackson and Fran Walsh on their 1994 drama film, Heavenly Creatures.
