David Balcorta (born 1 October 1958; age 65) is a former stuntman and stunt actor who worked as stunt double for Robert Beltran on three episodes of Star Trek: Voyager. He first doubled him on the first season episode "Caretaker" during the stairwell stunt scene on Thursday 13 October 1994 on Paramount Stage 16. He also worked as Chakotay double for re-shoots of this scene on Tuesday 13 December 1994, again on Paramount Stage 16. He filmed his stunt as double for Beltran for the second season episode "Initiations" on Thursday 20 July 1995 on Paramount Stage 16. He then worked again as his double on the fourth season episode "Nemesis" for which he filmed his stunts on Thursday 19 June 1997 and Tuesday 24 June 1997 on Paramount Stage 16 and on location at the Warner Bros. backlot. On all three episodes he was coordinated by Dennis Madalone.
Balcorta was also on location filming a scene as stunt double for Robert Beltran for the episode "State of Flux". This scene, filmed on Wednesday 1 February 1995 at the Bronson Caves was later not part of the final episode. His costume from "Nemesis" was sold off on the It's A Wrap! sale and auction on eBay and was previously worn by background actor Louis Ortiz in the third season episode "Blood Fever".
Balcorta performed stunts in films such as the action film Code Name: Zebra (1987, along stunt performers Greg Barnett, Phil Chong, Carl Ciarfalio, Tom Huff, David LeBell, Gene LeBell, Spiro Razatos, Beth Nufer, Glenn R. Wilder, and stunt coordinator Eddy Donno), Predator 2 (1990, starring Kevin Peter Hall and stunts by Tony Brubaker, Jeff Cadiente, and Jimmy Ortega), Kindergarten Cop (1990, with stunts by Ted Barba and Chris Doyle, under stunt coordination by Joel Kramer), T-Force (1994, along with Red Horton, Joe Murphy, Spice Williams, and Mark Riccardi), and the action film Militia (2000, with stunts by George Colucci, Dennis Madalone, and Lincoln Simonds).
In 1997 and 1998 he also worked as a electrical rigger for Twentieth Century Fox.
