Melvyn Hayes is an English actor and voice-over performer. He is best known for playing the effeminate Gunner "Gloria" Beaumont in the 1970s BBC sitcom It Ain't Half Hot Mum, for appearing in the Cliff Richard musical films The Young Ones, Summer Holiday and Wonderful Life as well as Here Come the Double Deckers (1970–1971).

In 1972 Melvyn Hayes was cast as Gloria in the second hit comedy in the David Croft and Jimmy Perry franchise, It Ain’t Half Hot Mum alongside Windsor Davies and Don Estelle. This is the role which has probably defined Hayes’ career but that hasn’t stopped his love for the character of Gloria and his fellow actors in the show.
