Theophilus Ransom Gates (January 12, 1787 – October 30, 1846) was an American religious leader who founded a sect known as the "Battle Axes", a free-love perfectionist Christian sect near Pottstown, Pennsylvania.

Ransom Gates (born 26 August 1961; age 62) is a stuntman who performed stunts as Crewman O'Donnell in the Star Trek: Voyager third and fourth season episodes "Worst Case Scenario" and "Hope and Fear" under Stunt Coordinator Dennis Madalone. He received no credit for these appearances.
Gates worked on stunt safety on the television show Guinness World Records: Primetime (1998) and as assistant stunt coordinator on The Christmas Secret (2000, stunt coordination by Charlie Croughwell).

Theophilus Ransom Gates (1787-1846) was a Baptist minister and the founder of the Battle Axes, a sect of Baptists in Chester County, Pennsylvania. He is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery and has a memorial page with photos and sources on Find a Grave.
