    Kimmie Meissner began figure skating at age six after watching her older brothers playing Ice hockey. She landed her first triple, a salchow jump, six years later. In the 1999-2000 season, Meissner qualified for the U.S. Junior Figure Skating Championships on the juvenile level, where she placed 16th.
