Richard Joseph Carmichael (born November 27, 1979) is an American former professional motocross and stock car racing driver. He competed in the AMA Motocross Championships from 1997 to 2007 and in NASCAR from 2008 to 2011.

In 2002, Carmichael switched to Team Honda before dominating the AMA Supercross Championship, and set a record that can never be broken in AMA 250cc National Motocross racing: he won every moto he entered that season, going 24 for 24, and earning the first perfect season in U.S. motocross history.

In 11 years as a professional, Carmichael became the most dominant rider ever in AMA Motocross. He was named AMA Motocross Rookie of the year in 1996, and logged his first full season in 1997, when he won the 125 Motocross Championship.
He won 15 AMA championships, 10 in Motocross, five in Supercross; scored 150 wins, 102 in Motocross, 48 in Supercross; had two perfect Motocross seasons; was never beaten in 125 Supercross; and was a five-time winner of the AMA's Rider of the Year award.
