Aug 24, 2016 · Nickels Arcade was always a quick place to get out of the weather, particularly during winter. It was nicer to visit upon returning to A2 this November, because, instead of being a poor student only able to window shop, it was a destination where one could appreciate the fairly unique gift offerings in some businesses that have remained there for 50+ years.

Nickels Arcade is a commercial building located at 326-330 South State Street in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. [1] The building is notable as perhaps the only remaining example in Michigan of a free-standing commercial arcade building of a type that was popularized by the Cleveland Arcade .

A story in the Michigan Daily in 2009 reflects on the turnover in businesses in the arcade. According to an Mlive article in late July, 2015, a 21 year old student fell through the glass ceiling to his death.
