The Hermitage is a historical museum located in Davidson County, Tennessee, United States, 10 miles (16 km) east of downtown Nashville. The 1,000-acre (400 ha)+ site was owned by Andrew Jackson , the seventh president of the United States , from 1804 until his death at the Hermitage in 1845.

Opened in 1910, The Hermitage Hotel was Nashville’s first million-dollar hotel. Billed as “fireproof, noise proof, and dustproof,” the hotel served as the headquarters for the suffragette movement in 1920, when Tennessee cast the deciding ballot giving women the right to vote.
