James Francis Ivory (born Richard Jerome Hazen on June 7, 1928) is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. Ivory along with Indian film producer Ismail Merchant, his domestic as well as professional partner, and screenwriter Ruth Prawer Jhabvala, were the principals in Merchant Ivory Productions.
James Ivory is an Oscar-winning director, writer and producer of films such as Call Me by Your Name, A Room with a View and The Remains of the Day. He is known for his adaptations of classic literature and his collaboration with Ismail Merchant and Ruth Prawer Jhabvala.
