Johnnie To Kei-fung has established the strongest track record since John Woo and Tsui Hark. He has become the most successful local director, always notching one or two films in the year’s top releases. And, unlike Tsui and Woo, he has worked fast. Not yet fifty, he has directed over thirty films, most since 1990.
