Yoshiyuki Tomino (富野 由悠季, Tomino Yoshiyuki, born 富野 喜幸; November 5, 1941) is a Japanese anime director, screenwriter, songwriter and novelist best known for creating the Gundam anime franchise.
Yoshiyuki Tomino was born on 5 November 1941 in Odawara, Japan. He is a writer and director, known for Mobile Suit Z Gundam: A New Translation - Heirs to the Stars (2004), Mobile Suit Z Gundam II: A New Translation - Lovers (2005) and Mobile Suit Gundam (1979).
