John Hench (June 29, 1908 – February 5, 2004) was an American artist, designer and director at The Walt Disney Company. For 65 years, he helped design and develop various Disney attractions and theme parks.
John Hench was a versatile and influential Disney artist, animator, and Imagineer who worked on many classic films and attractions. He also painted Mickey Mouse's official portraits for his birthday celebrations and received an Oscar ® for his special effects work.

In a 1978 article in New West magazine titled “Disneyland is Good for You,” the author notes “Hench has become the Disney organization’s ranking theoretician on how movies and theme parks can be programmed to produce effects on the unconscious as well as conscious mind.”
