Volker Schlöndorff ( German pronunciation: [ˈfɔlkɐ ˈʃløːndɔʁf] ⓘ; born 31 March 1939) is a German film director, screenwriter and producer who has worked in Germany, France and the United States. He was a prominent member of the New German Cinema of the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Volker Schlöndorff. Director: The Tin Drum. Has studied economy and political sciences as well as at the Institut des Hautes Etudes Cinematographique (IDHEC) in Paris, France. Worked as an assistant director with Louis Malle, Jean-Pierre Melville and Alain Resnais.
