Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is 2,000 acres (810 ha) of coastal state park located in San Diego, California, off North Torrey Pines Road. Although it is located within San Diego city limits, it remains one of the wildest stretches of land (8 km²) on the Southern California coast.
High Point Trail. Steep 100 yards with steps but the top offers a panoramic view of the Reserve, lagoon, and inland. Razor Point Trail. About 2/3 mile to the Razor Point Overlook, the trail meanders through coastal sage scrub with dramatic views of sculptured sandstone gorge and gnarled trees.

Torrey Pines is one of the most popular State Parks in San Diego. As a result of this, Torrey Pines becomes very crowded during the summer time. The hours between 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM tend to be the busiest hours of the Reserve, so it is best to plan around these times!
Natural groves of Torrey pines are protected on Santa Rosa Island by the National Park Service and at Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve by California State Parks. Outside those boundaries, local ordinances apply.
